Celebrating a Legacy: Russell Nash Retires After 50 Remarkable Years

After half a century of dedicated service, we bid farewell to a true cornerstone of our organization. Russell Nash, our Division President, has officially retired, closing another chapter in our company’s history.
A Family Legacy of Excellence
The William R. Nash story is, at its heart, a family story. Founded by Russell’s father, William R. Nash, the company began as a true family enterprise. William and his brothers established the first generation, creating a reputation for excellence and integrity that continues to define us today.
When the second generation took over the leadership role, which included Russell and his brothers Bill and Michael, they took up the mantle with determination and vision. Together, they preserved their father’s vision while skillfully adapting to an ever-changing industry landscape, ensuring not just survival but continued success through decades of economic ups and downs.
From Humble Beginnings to Visionary Leadership
Russell’s journey with our company began in 1975 when he joined as a Material Expediter. Through unwavering determination and commitment, he steadily advanced through the financial and administrative ranks, eventually being appointed President and CEO in 2009.
Following our acquisition by HB Mechanical Group in 2020, Russell assumed the role of
Division President, as his brothers transitioned into retirement. Under his steady guidance during this transition period, our company has achieved remarkable growth while remaining true to the foundational values that have always been our north star.
Educational Excellence and Industry Leadership
Beyond his hands-on experience, Russell earned a Bachelor’s degree in business from Florida International University and a Master’s degree in Business Administration from Nova Southeastern University, bringing enhanced analytical and strategic capabilities to his leadership role. His commitment to industry advancement led him to serve as chairman of the board at Associated Builders and Contractors, Florida East Coast Chapter in 2018, and he has been an active Vistage Member since 2012.
A Half-Century of Expertise
With 50 years in the industry, Russell’s expertise spans every aspect of financial and administrative management. His leadership has consistently been characterized by a results-oriented approach—identifying opportunities, implementing effective strategies, and achieving outstanding outcomes.
As our Division President, Russell has been instrumental in fostering a culture where collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement thrive. His strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities have driven our organizational growth and profitability, particularly during challenging times.

Looking Forward: The Next Chapter
We're pleased to announce that Ryan Nash, who has been serving as our Chief Operating Officer, will step into the role of Division President. This transition represents an excellent
continuation of the Nash family’s leadership and commitment to our organization’s future.
Ryan began his journey with William R. Nash, LLC in 1996 as a contract administrator, steadily advancing through finance and project management roles across multiple states and international locations. Our team has witnessed his exceptional growth from Project Manager to Chief Operating Officer, demonstrating the professional excellence that defines our approach. Ryan currently holds our corporate licenses in Florida, Tennessee, Kentucky, and South Carolina, ensuring we maintain the highest standards of compliance and expertise. In 2023, his industry leadership was recognized with his appointment to the Board of Directors of ABC Florida East Coast Chapter, further strengthening our commitment to construction excellence.
